Poor Carolee Carmello...

True. Small roles can do well for one's career, however, I don't think this one will do much for Carolee. Patti was already a known star with a big TV show when she took Les Miz. Still, if Lestat were a hit, Carolee's star would be sure to rise.
Carolee is attached as the lead in Kathy Lee Gifford's Broadway bound musical, so we'll see where that goes...

Kathy Lee Gifford? My my.
And you can be in a giant pile of stinking dog turd that is the biggest flop in history and emerge with dignity and career intact if you're the best thing in it.

When she wins the Featured Tony for her role, we can judge then

Lol. That is IF the show makes it to Broadway...
Hey I'd love to be proven wrong. Anything to get my Carolee on that stage!

If La Carmello is truly as astounding in Lestat as people say she is, it's not inconceivable that, if the show does come in, that she'll be nommed and possibly win.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 12:29pmHe was lead. I'm kind of unclear at this point who would be Carolee's competition. Some of the women from Sweeney? Lauper and Gasteyer for Threepenny? The Color Purple ladies? I don't think the competition is too stiff, so perhaps that will increase things for Carolee.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 3:17pmI got free tickets to Kathy Lee Giffords show when it had a try out at a theater in Westchester this summer. It was a pretty bad show, but Carolee was unbelievable in it. It was the first (and only) time I've seen her live, and she really blew me away. But I wouldn't count on it reaching it to Broadway anytime soon without major revisions to the show
