I know it was from the deleted segment of Mary Poppins where they traveled to all four corners of the globe or something, and the song from the East, titled "Land of Sand" was reused in "The Jungle Book" as Kaa's song, "Trust in Me".
If you haven't heard "Chimpanzoo", you're not missung too much, IMO. It's not as good as anything in the chalk portrait scene which replaced it.

Posted: 1/31/07 at 7:23pmThe Chimpanzoo song is moderately cute. It sounds like something cut from The Tiki Room at Disneyland. There's a special edition of the soundtrack album that includes a second disc of the nearly complete meeting from the early 60's with Travers, The Shermans, Don DaGradi and Bill Walsh that has plenty of deleted songs. Oddly, the first drafts of the songs that were to be in the film are edited out of this for I guess brevity's sake. If deleted Poppins tunes interest you, that might be for you.
