Positive LSOH Reviews Keep Coming In

Just had to say that after 5 days the positive and rave reviews for Little Shop far outnumber the less enthusiastic reviews. New Yorker, NY1, NY Post, Wall St.Journal, Reuters, TV and radio reviews, AP, Newsday, etc.Not on the payroll but a fan of promoting as many Bway shows as possible. The League of American Theatres and Producers lists a 61.1% attendance rate for the week of September 29 - October 5. Each night saw an average of only 739 patrons in a theater that seats 1,275. The total attendance for the week was 5,914 people and the show grossed $369,442, or an average ticket price of $62.47. Hunter and Kerry better start shaking their money makers a little bit harder.

There were only 4 paid LSOH performances last week (opening week)..that accounts for the 61% paid figure. I saw it Thurs. and it was a sell-out. Read the Playbill chart carefully before stating things as facts.

I said it a few times but will repeat for you again...I support the success of all Bway shows especially when they get mostly positive reviews. A better question might be why you want a show to fail. Did a friend get fired in FL? You wont hear from me again as my point has been more than made clear to those who wish all shows well.

Lou you said that before. YOU were supposed to be gone awile ago.

And anyway... No One said they wanted the show to fail! Okay so maybe some people do but that is not the point. We want good theatre and that is all. Something that is enjoyable. Not all of us are lemers (sp) running off a cliff for a show. We want variety and choice and opinions but we want it to be good.

I have not seen LSOH on broadway so I will say nothing of the show itself.

Saw Little shop the other evening and thought it was pretty impressive. I have seen many shows such as the big ones..Producers, Hairspray and have to say that for someone who isnt exactly wealthy, I would pay $100 to see LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN! One of the best out there. Absolutly blown away by it.

I am new to online sites like this and that is why I am what you call a "sudden poster". Sorry if I invaded your little world of like minded ethnocentrics. Your accusations and insults are way out of line. Keep on with this tone and this board will peter out ..Some advice: Be more tolerant and welcoming instead of placing labels on people who simply have a different opinion. So long. I hope every show receives great notices and promotes Bway.

I think Albert and Louis need to learn the difference between gossip and the facts (there is a difference folks).

Has anybody said they want the show to close? No. What people are discussing are the facts. And your postivie reviews?? When the NY Times and the Post give thumbs down, do you think NY1 is going to make a dent?

May I suggest you both enroll in your local community college journalism class so that you can learn what reporting the "facts" and reporting the "gossip" are all about.
