From a member on the IMDB boards:
"I work at a movie theatre upstairs and I work the projectors half the time, we just got in a film reel of a trailer that says "Sweeney Todd" on it, they haven't told us when to show it just yet but my boss says most likely it will be out with "The Invasion" or "Mr.Beans Holiday"
Make of it what you will. Looking at the member's posting history, he seems... legit and normal...

I'm going to see Mr. Bean. So I'll see if they show it with that movie.
Thanks for the news! I'm shivering with anticipation.
Don’t get too excited. The guy still may be lying.
It does make sense though for a teaser trailer to be released soon. With a few exceptions, every major studio film that releases later in the year has a trailer out now. It also makes sense that it would be attached to 'The Invasion' (comes out Friday) as it is Warner Brothers only big release until 'The Brave One in mid September.

Reminder:
Warner Bros. isn't releasing Sweeney Todd here in the U.S. They have international rights of distribution ONLY.
The domestic theatrical release and the home video release are both through DreamWorks/Paramount.
That's true, and I thought of that when I first read the post, but it's not uncommon for studios to attach trailers to other studios films.
There is also a connection with Vertigo Entertainment, which has deep ties to Dreamworks.
Oh, sure... they could still show the trailer with other studio's movies for many reasons.
I just wanted to point out that officially it's not a "Warner Bros. release" here in the U.S.

Hopefully this is true and not someone's idea of a joke like this one guy who said he had the Batman footage that was shown at the Wizard World Con in Chicago and that he was going to post it at 8pm on You Tube and of course it wasn't the footage but some stupid music video.
I was glued last night to the The Dark Knight IMDB board.

Warner Bros has Harry Potter less than a month ago, that was a pretty big release...

"I was glued last night to the The Dark Knight IMDB board."
I really wasn't but I was interested to see if it was real or some stupid thing and it was a stupid thing. The guy who posted that changed his hometown on his myspace to Chicago when he's living in Florida. Besides, the Wizard World security enforced the no cell phones, cameras, etc anything that could record audio or video and apparently they had night vision googles on to.
The Dark Knight's IMDB board is filled with people like that who saw they got new video of Heath as The Joker or something like that and then you get Rick Rolled. Sweeney's board doesn't really have anyone like that.

The Invasion sounds like the right movie to attach it to. Even though it's musical theatre it would not have fit before HAIRSPRAY with the PG audience it was aimed at. I'm definitely gonna see The Invasion now!
Found the poster on another message board by looking up the person's screen name. As of June of this year, he/she states that:
"Student/ Working at an Antique Store"
Not quite a theater.
The user just responded with this:
"Well to answer a few of your questions I am NOT lying, and I am from Canada, and I was going to see The Invasion anyway cuz I get free movies =D, I LOVE Nicole Kidman, I was at work this morning and I dont really do tickets or anything I mostly do Maintnence and I hang posters up, projectors, ect, and I jsut hung up the Sweeney Todd poster in the lobby for EVERYONE to see, and we also have posters that I cant hang up untill November but they all say "Christmas Day" at the bottom, and they are all different, one is a picture Of Johnny as Sweeney holding his razor in the air probably from "AT LAST MY RIGHT ARM IS COMPLETE AGAIN!", one is of Helena behind the counter with pies in front of her (worst pies in london?) and one is of Alan Rickman with his cane, each of them say "Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd" and then the logo one says "Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs.Lovett" and then the logo and the thrid one says "Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin" and the logo, and we also have a HUUUUUUGE vinyl banner just of the poster that we have all seen from the comic-con thing, I asked if I could take pictures but I cant because then I might get charged for leaking them and I wouldnt show you anyway becuase I am selfish! hhheeee, lol just kidding but I would show you all if I could becuase I know you are all die hard Sweeney fans like me. Talk later if I get anything else"

I was just going to post something about what he just said about the banners and the posters with Johnny, Helena and Alan.
What a little twit
"I could take a picture of the one I hung up but we have all seen it, its the one from the Comic-Con thing"
All Posters have started selling Sweeney Todd posters today. It's the poster we've all seen before from Comic-Con. Perhaps there is some truth to the theatre workers claims.
