Posted: 1/12/04 at 2:34pmI know that someone recently posted a question similar to this , but I was wondering if anyone specifically knew of some great places that are open late? Thanks

Call Joe Allen a week in advance. Tell them what show you're seeing and they'll know exactly for what time to make your reservation. Great place for seeing Broadway celebs late nights.

Ha! I got a good laugh reading that link for pre theatre dining, including my own old post.
Angus MacIndoe may be warm and inviting most nights, but not when I was there on a recent Sat night. OK I got there late and got seated back near the kithchen, and it was freaken' cold everytime someone opened the door.
St. Andrew's, on 100 block os W 44th St is also quite cool, (not cold) The barkeep wears kilts. Bangers and Mash, single malts, What the hell!
If you prefer Irish: Pig and Whistle on 47th or O'Lunny's on 46th are both good for late night. The fish and chips are a buck cheaper at Pig and Whistle.
Sardi's: you gotta go there at least once in your life.
Danny's Grand Seafood Palace, on restaurant row (300 block W 46th). Worth the trip just for the mee krob.

Posted: 1/12/04 at 11:16pmSome of my friends will kill me for telling people about this place but some of you probably already know about it. Directly across the street on 52nd from the Neil Simon Theatre's stage door is a very unassuming russian vodka bar that has some kick ass food. The drinks are cheap and the food is great. The chicken schnitzel is one of my favorite things to eat when I go there. Most of the employees are Russian, including the piano player. Did I mention they a piano player that plays your favorite ethnic dittys? Not much ambience but it's a great hang for good/affordable post show food and drinks. Updated On: 1/12/04 at 11:16 PM

Posted: 1/12/04 at 11:18pmAngus is where you'll find my friends and me after shows. Friendly staff, good food, lots of people but most enjoyable. I've even taken to sitting at the bar and chatting with people nearby or the bartender. Some nights are very busy so consider a reservation for a good table or hustle over quickly after your show!

if you are up for a walk, there are a bunch of great restaurants around harold square. in particular, 32nd street is known as 'k-town' because of the collection of korean restaurants and stores. there are a few restaurants (open 24 hours) along a few karaoke places if your that excited after seeing a show :) goood food if you like spicy
