I think the perfect seats for Chitty are actually in the Dress Circle. When the car flies, she'll be at your eye level. Since the theatre has a balcony above the DC, the DC is fairly low down, so you don't feel like you're sitting a mile away. I sat in the second to last row up there, and it was perfect, so I'm sure if you can get within the front few DC rows, it's amazing. I'd also say back half of the orchestra, since so much of the show is about physical spectacle. You won't be able to get AS much of facial expressions and all, but it's nice to get the whole picture, which is nice for the first time.
Have fun!
