....Not Sure if you all know this already but on the official rent movie site you can listen to thrirty-second clips on a few songs from the movie with the movie cast singing them..on the bottom of the page click on LAUNCH RENT MUSIC PLAYER then you can listen to...

I think they all sound not so hot. Maybe it's the muffled streaming sound. Different band orchestrations and stuff. Interesting. And GOD, I want this movie to be so good. I hope the soundtrack sounds better.

Here they come. Out Tonight sounded really great, actually. They're all finishing up now. They sound like raw samples straight from the recording studio, that's all. I believe it's just something like that.


(But again, not blow-me-away clips)

I liked 'em. They are just different which takes some getting used to. Not bad, just different. The arrangements, the mixing, etc. I'm cool with what I've heard so far.

Believe it or not, I thought Santa Fe sounded better in this clip than in the OCR - more soul.

EDIT:
Of course I am basing that observation on a 30-second clip. Who knows if I am way out in left field here.

Me too.

I wish the entrie soundtrack wouldn't come out so much earlier like it is planned to. Guess that's how it's done these days to generate hype, blah blah blah. I won't be able to stay away from listening to it all before seeing the movie, and that is always the reason to see these movie musicals for me. To see and hear the whole package together.

I agree. I'm tempted to do a blackout on future RENT promos, so the movie will be a surprise, but I can't help myself. I will probably get the soundtrack before the movie comes out...against my better judgement!
