I am attending the first preview for The Lifespan an of a Fact this Thursday and was wondering if they still hand out playbills during previews. Also, is it common to stagedoor after the first previews or do actors usually wait until the show opens?

For the audience, a preview performance is just like a regular performance! The only real difference is that the creative team is still on deck to potentially make changes and tweaks before the next performance. So yes, you will still get a playbill Previews

As for stagedoor, it's up to the actors. But there isn't really a "no stagedoor during previews" policy.

Playbills are given out, but for "a show in trouble" you may have difficulty in figuring out what the heck is going on.

I remember being at a preview of SEESAW and the information provided in Playbill bore little resemblance to what I was seeing on stage.
