Thom Allison was terrific in Outrageous. Good for him. The other two I don't know by name, but it's good to know that there will be Canadians in the cast.

Finally able? Makes it sound like you work for Mirvish. I wonder...? :)

No connection to Mirvish, not even as a subscriber. :) Just a friend of Thom's.

canmark, I'm probably biased but Thom's wonderful in everything he does. I've seen him in almost every show he's done dating back to Miss Saigon and it's difficult to choose a favourite, although Elegies ranks right up there. His concert/cabaret performances are so much fun. I'm a little sad that I can't get out west currently to see him in Spelling Bee.

"Will Matt Cavenaugh and Will Swenson join original cast member Tony Sheldon for the Broadway premiere of PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT? Very likely, according to Deadline.com.

The site reports that PRISCILLA - which is currently casting for a March, 2011 opening - will likely play the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The story continues that Matt Cavenaugh (WEST SIDE STORY) is in talks to play Adam/Felicia, the role originated in the 1994 film by Guy Pearce. Will Swenson (HAIR) in talks to play Tick/Mitzy, originated onscreen by Hugo Weaving. Original cast member Tony Sheldon will play Bernadette, the film role originated by Terence Stamp."

I can't really see Matt Cavanaugh in that over-the-top role (as Natalie Wood says in West Side Story, "Please let it not be true!"). But then again, if you saw Guy Pearce in Memento you wouldn't think he was the same guy who played Adam/Felicia in Priscilla, either. So...

Thom Allison says on his blog: "I wouldn't normally take an ensemble role but the creative team, who are so incredible and generous, want me to understudy Bernadette (Terence Stamp in the movie) and understudy Miss Understanding and understudy Jimmy (the aboriginal guy they meet in the desert – really fun part in the musical – even though he has to appear in a loincloth – Jesus). I won’t take out a billboard until all is signed and done, but the offer is on the table."

Priscilla tickets officially go on sale on Monday, although you can buy them now through the Toronto Star link: http://www.mirvish.com/adventure/ There's supposed to be a discount code ("adventure"), but it doesn't seem to be working. Weekend top prices are $130, $107 on weekdays.

Nick Adams joining the cast?! Now I'm even more excited to see this! I really hope this means he will be a part of the Toronto cast.

Man, he is so hot...

The Priscilla marquee is now up at the POW. And just in time. With the Toronto Int'l Film Festival's new home, the Bell Lightbox, just down the street, it'll be bringing a lot of people into the neighborhood.
