HOUSE OF FLOWERS.
One of the most beautiful scores of the 1950s is welded to an awful and unfixable book.

Big fan of the Boys and of Closer to Heaven (which I admit took me a while to really appreciate). The playwright John Harvey (sp?) has now gone on record saying it's the worse thing he's writte3n--seeing as he's written some miserable bit so fCoronation Street etc I think he's a bit deluded :)

Agree with Chess, though, as I have said, I sawnmit this week and it was a bit of a drag. I agree with Seussical and Jekyll and Hyde also.
Question for CATSNYREVIVAL: Which version of Whistle down the Wind were you on about, the ALW one? I loved the original London Production, but the revival at the Palace, which was really the tail end of the tour, wasn't great. The original set was so great, hard act to follow.
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say

our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Dracula
Little Women
All Shook Up(I don't know if you would consider it a problem show)
re: Problem Shows that you Love#37
Posted: 2/24/07 at 12:44pmI agree about Lestat. It had so much potential and so many flaws, but I still loved it when I saw it.

Witches of Eastwick of course
I love it dearly, but it has many flaws. Be intersting to see what Signature does with it...
Anyone Can Whistle. I love the score, but the book really is a mess. Unfocused and (now) dated, it could really use someone to come in and sharpen it up. But would that remove all the fun from the show?

HAIR certainly has some issues and moments of complete randomness due to drug induced writing, but I LOVE IT.
And I have to say, I found some of SCARLET PIMPERNEL quite enjoyable. Not all that satisfying as a whole show, but some moments were really rather good.
