January 4th will be the two year anniversary i saw Dear Evan Hansen on tour. It's a beautiful musical but also a lot of work. Watching bits of the OBC YouTube bootleg have allowed me to process my sympathy for Evan even more. I have been feeling drained by the Pandemic with no life after college plan, no job or social life with people around my age. I enjoyed the show but also felt sympathy for Evan because he chose to go on living st the expense of what he wanted most other than Zoe. If i were in his shoes, i would not happy about not being despised by so many people on social media for hiding how broken and alone i felt. And i did not like the lack of closuee for Jarrod, Connor and Alana. For an emotionally intimate story, it is a handful. The choice to go on living at the expense of causing others pain is not what I call a feel good ending.
