Hello there,
I have a friend who is intent on producing west end shows when he is 16 years old. if he was to attract investment would this be possible for him. thanks

Nope. At 16 what crediblity does he have?
He should start with community/regional theatres where he can learn from his mistakes. The only thing a 16 year old boy can do well is masturbate!
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

frontrowcentre2, well...that's disgusting and completely not true. Plenty of 16 year olds have talents and get recognized at their young age. This is a strange example, but the youngest Jonas brother was surpassing the success of most adults when he was only 14. He wasn't just sitting in his bathtub touching himself. Producing a major west end show at the age of 16 is VERY unlikely, but that's not to say that he can't intern with a local theatre company and learn a little bit about his dream job.
Better examples:
The OBC of 'Spring Awakening' had 16 year olds in it (Lilli Cooper is the first to come to mind). Kiril in Billy Elliot is 15. It's actually legit to say that several teenagers have been more successful than any adult on this board. That is a fact.
Why are you asking us what is possible? It depends exactly what your friend is doing and if your friend has the smarts to be in this business.
