Production Stage Manager/Stage Mananger

Stage manager reports to production stage manager, who reports to the director.

Different shows have different numbers of stage managers. I've worked on shows that have had as many as 4. Some shows only have 1. If a show has two stage managers, yes, they both need to be there.

I know that the stage manager does, but what about the pro. stage manager? Do they just oversee things and come to the shows everyone once in a while?

The shows I've worked on, they are always there. They oversee the show in place of the director.

Depends. That's not hard and fast. Each performance could be different - the show I worked on with 4 stage managers, they kind of took turns.
