I was just wondering why Mirvish has been using generic theatre photos on their programmes for the last several shows. The last proper programme I have is from August: Osage County, and while looking through my playbill binders I noticed that Fiddler, Rent (which really disappointed me), and Little House all were the boring, generic, non-production specific covers. Any ideas why?

I noticed these generic covers beginning with the Boys in the Photograph. I asked an usher at the Royal Alex if they were selling souvenires and they said no because the show was only there for six weeks or so. I wonder if it is for this reason that they stopped printing the show names on their programme covers. Surely a company as large as Mirvish Productions can print specific programmes for each of their shows for us collectors.

I only noticed this with the Programmes at the Canon Theatre. I'm fairly sure the ones being handed out at POW, the Royal Alex and the Panasonic Theatre are not generic.
