The reviews for Lennon have mostly been mixed, with a few being more glowing and a few outright pans. Since it's still in the out of town refining stage, for Reidel to zoom in to the blood in the water and attack the show for being like other jukebox musicals is disingenous at best. Especially as it doesn't fall into the usual jukebox pattern of well-known songs plugged into a weak story.

That's not to say that the show is perfect, but the outright glee exhibited by some reviewers at the possibility of Lennon failing is sort of weird to watch.

Terrence Mann is great, he's forever young.

Riedel's predictions have never been wrong...except I can name 2 examples from last season alone.

Around New Year's he predicted Alfred Molina would win Best Actor in a Musical, and shortly before the Tonys he predicted Tonya Pinkins would win Best Actress in a Musical. So much for those choices.

Wrong or right, he's a spiteful, preening little asshole (or at least comes off as one in print) usually not worth the 30 seconds it takes to read his poorly-written columns.

I always hate to say "I told you so" -- however...

-- "the potential trouble for lennon is that they are not taking much time to fix things before letting the critics in to take whacks at it in boston. what is it, one? two? previews and then "have at us you beantown butchers?" if good vibrators made it and crooklyn too, lennon will have its day on the boards." --

Maybe the Boston critics won't have the opportunity.

But you didn't hear that from me. re: 'pull the plug' article/lennon in trouble? ***

But where was the oh so reliable and always informed David Reidel on this???

Entirely wrong. LOL
