Quatermaine's Terms

Did anyone see the production of "Quatermaine's Terms" at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer? I heard that there is a possibility that it will be moving to Broadway and I was wondering what people thought of it; if it has a chance or not. I'm a fan of Maria Aitken and "39 Steps" and I would love to see another one of her shows on Broadway.

Didn't see it, but it's "Quartermaine's", not "Quatermaine's". More Google hits if you spell it correctly.

Oh, ok, thanks. Simple spelling mistake.

This prompted me to search a bit...I'd love to hear the BBC radio adaptation with Michael Palin as Quartermaine, which Aitken also directed!

Oh wow, no way! I'd love to hear that too! I am hopeful that "Quartermaine's" will get a Broadway run. (Got the "r" in there that time, hahaha) I was researching the show as well and it looks like the original off-Broadway production got really good reviews, but never made it to Broadway. I wonder why.

Just a stray thought: Try to describe the show to someone, and convince them that they'll like it. It's hard. It's a hard sell. Really, almost nothing happens onstage in the play, everything happens offstage. But that's what's so great about it; we don't see action, but we see "souls in motion", to coin a phrase.

Huge stars in the play might be able to fill a Broadway house, but I just think it's maybe a little too "small" (on the surface) to work on Broadway.
