I have a question for you big Bway gurus:
Is a person considered Bway Royalty just because they get their portrait at Sardi's or when they win their first Tony? Or is it their extensive resume and/or who they are linked to?????
Considering Sardi's proneness to giving any one-show hack a portrait in recent years, that is definitely not a qualification in my book.
....oh so bitter.....
I wrote this reply before I saw your thread about Clay Aiken. Nice job jumping to conclusions.

The same way you become Hollywood royalty. Be seen coming out of a car drunk and without panties.
... or lurking in the steam room of New York Sports Club.
just blow Sondheim ... a kiss 0:)
Check out the existing monarch's family tree, go back far enough until you've found a link between their family and yours, get some nobles on your side, raise an army, and go into battle.
That's how it seems to work in Shakespeare's History plays, anyway. If you want to be a little more contemporary, I guess you just have to marry a member of the royal family.
Somehow, that just doesn't seem as much fun...
Broadway Royalty to me,the first thing that comes to mind is the person is at least in their mid to late 50's. number of tony nods kinda matter/ but they had to stand out in more than 3 or 4 different productions. Over a span of decades possibly too
