So apologies for this shallow question, but I just am genuinely curious. Is there any sort of rhym or reason as to when Broadway shows collect for Broadway cares? Is it every night, or does each show have a certain night?
I only ask because I see that Sam and Anthony from CC came out in costume to collect a few nights ago, and I'd really like to get tickets for the show on a day when they might do so again. From my understanding, I thought that the collections were an every-night thing until the end of the month. But I've only seen pictures from the one night.
I'd love to be able to donate whilst getting to see them - especially Scorpius - in full costume! Albus looks pretty much the same, but my young niece would love to see Blonde Scorpius and tell him how she adores him :)
Onto the Friday Forty question..
Does anyone have any tips for this? Do you have better chances requesting one ticket vs two? One performance vs. all? Applying at midnight on Friday, or at 12:00pm? I just feel like I'm doing something wrong, because I've seen people win multiple times, and I can't seem to win once - even with trying every week, and having multiple people I know try.
I'm also confused how they pick winners. For example, at the moment, my friend has all three dates she signed up for as better luck next time. I have 2/3 dates as the same, except one date is still pending. Shouldn't all tickets be sold out by now? :$ I'm confused how some people lose at 1:00, meanwhile others win at 3:00pm. It makes no sense to me.
Cheers to anyone who can offer insight on either issue :) Thanks!

Broadway shows collect for BC/EFA x amount of time (I don't remember exactly.. roughly 2 months) before The Easter Bonnet and what was formerly known as Gypsy of the Year. Shows in previews don't collect. I believe all open Broadway shows collect after every performance, once fundraising starts, but the actors who collect and participate vary. There are many volunteers from BC/EFA who hold the red buckets and collect.
Don't know about the TodayTix lottery, sorry.

Also, who are Sam and Anthony, and what is CC?
Edit: Cursed Child, got it. Might be helpful to mention the show somewhere in your post, as I'm just realizing all the questions relate to that particular show.

One also imagines the show will only collect after part 2?

Yep. They mentioned during the speech that they only collect 4x a week.

No rhyme or reason to it. I went Sunday night, and it was James (Bane), Sam (Albus), and Nathan (Scorpius) doing the buckets. It's $100 for a signed Showbill from the whole company, and $10 for selfies. They only do the collections after part 2.
