Question about Donna Murphy

Is she considered too old to play Mame? The proper age for Mame has really confused me with the Lucy movie, and then Chritine Baranski.

I know she probably wouldn't be playing the role anytime soon, but I would love to hear her sing "If He Walked Into My Life"

Lansbury was 58 the second time she played the role...Murphy is in her 49th year of age now, give or take a few months. She would be fine.

I believe in the book Mame was inher late 20's when patrick came to her.

I'd also love to hear her "If He Walked Into My Life," but I think she'd be even better in "Bossom Buddies."

If we do see a revival of MAME anytime soon, I want it to be Christine Baranski's comeback vehicle. I love that woman.

Can Baranski sing Mame? Cause she sure as hell couldn't sing Carlotta in Follies.

I don't know if it was so much that she couldn't sing Carlotta. She just seemed to be putting no effort into it, at least at the performance I attended. But she did receive raves for playing Mame in DC last year.
