Question about Donna Murphy

Is she considered too old to play Mame? The proper age for Mame has really confused me with the Lucy movie, and then Chritine Baranski.
I know she probably wouldn't be playing the role anytime soon, but I would love to hear her sing "If He Walked Into My Life"

Posted: 2/22/07 at 9:25pmLansbury was 58 the second time she played the role...Murphy is in her 49th year of age now, give or take a few months. She would be fine.

Posted: 2/22/07 at 11:00pmI don't know if it was so much that she couldn't sing Carlotta. She just seemed to be putting no effort into it, at least at the performance I attended. But she did receive raves for playing Mame in DC last year.
