Question about a quote from Ruthless! The musical...

I'm currently assistant stage managing a production of Ruthless, and we're trying to figure out if a certain line is a reference to something, or if it's just a line.

In Act 2, Eve says in a Cockney accent "Don't scratch your scabs or they'll never get any better!" to Ginger.

Anyone know if that comes from a movie or tv show or something?
