Well, it's not really about the play, and it might be a bit of a dumb question, but I was just wondering...
I read that the play is set at Swarthmore, and paints the school in a rather unfavorable light. My question is, will Ben Brantley (Swarthmore grad) have to recuse himself from reviewing it?
The play doesnt paint Swarthmore in a bad light, actually, but the tenure system and mistakes made by a professor.

Wha? Brantley's a Swattie? Oh, man...
My post seemed incoherent when I read it...I meant that it paints the University system, not Swathmare, in a bad light...and only mildly.

Brantley's bio on the Times says that he graduated with a B.A. in English, with high honors, and was Phi Beta Kappa.
Wendy Wasserstein has a new play? Details, anybody?
What? Brantley's a Swattie? Well, damn. Why don't I know this? I'm a current Swattie, and I've never seen him on any of the "notable alum" lists, or seen him sneaking around campus on Alumni Weekend.
I knew about the Wasserstein play already, but I suspect that I'm one of the only people here (meaning Swat) who does (at least among the publications people), and as Arts editor of one of the campus papers, I'm planning on making the most of it. I'm keeping quiet so I can scoop our rival paper.
I just realized I had exactly the same reaction as Plum. You aren't a Swattie too, are you? I think people here are generally astounded when we find alums who aren't either working for non-profits (preferably without salaries) or who aren't PhDs somewhere.

I know a ton of people at Swat, but from your description I don't think I know you. And rival publications? I thought they just had the Phoenix.
Plum- check your PMs.
