Question for Chicago Folks?

Does anyone know if the Shubert Theater in Chicago does cancellation tickets for Spamalot? I'm thinking that with the snow tonight, I might have a chance. I've tried calling the theater, but that just gets me Ticketmaster.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

When I saw it, there were a lot of people who seemed to be buying/selling on the sidewalk just WEST of the Shubert.

I had also always thought that all League of Chicago Theatres had to release a few tickets each week to Hottix, but I've seen none of these...and I've been looking very very hard!

In my experience it never hurts to approach the box office staff with your very best smile and most winning attitude and just ask-sometimes miracles happen (especially if you are really nice and can accept single seats.....)!

In specific, I can't imagine anyone letting this snow keep them away!

Thanks Joe.

Actually stopped by the theater and got two tickets (together) from the Box Office. When I asked about the possibility of cancellation tix because of the snow, his reply was "I've got tickets, but it's not because of the snow." Whatever...

Looking forward to seeing the show tonight -- I've heard only good things.

Wow I'm glad for you! What did you think? I loved it!

And how int he world do they have tickets laying around like that? Everyone I talked to said the show had sold out clean...Did you get house seats or what?

I too had tried numerous connections to get tickets and came up empty handed. I don't know if this guy was just being a jerk and they were cancellation seats or what, but I got them around 3:30 or so and they were Orchestra W -- third and fourth seats off of the aisle. Not too bad and I didn't have to pay scalper prices. The loge overhand was a bit of a bother (I can't stand the Shubert Theater), but for $66 it was worth it.

I really like the show. The cast was wonderful and I haven't laughed that hard in a show in a long time.

fun fun fun.

The Shubert here is not my favorite either! I can't wait to see what the new "LaSalle Theater" looks like!

Meanwhile, I always go up! I always try for those balcony seats. I was in the fifth row on the side and had a great view-- and paid only $30 a seat. And oh yeah, when in the balcony, go next door (office lobby west of the entry) and take that anonymous elevator to the fourth floor. You then cross back into the Shubert and take your seat. You avoid the lobby logjam AND the four flights of stairs.....
