I'm in a contest that involves some Broadway trivia and I'm sure someone here can give me an accurate answer to the following question:
How many of the songs from "Wicked" are duets? (I've only seen the show once a long time ago and I don't have the CD, so I can't really go from memory.)
Thanks!

Probably not since WWOTE is a song for Nessarose and "Wonderful" was definitely written for the Wizard.

I did always think of "Defying Gravity" as a duet, even though it's Elphaba's big number. Would that be wrong?
And regarding the others that were mentioned -- even if they're songs written mainly for other characters, are those characters joined by someone else for more than a line or two in them?
Question for the #6
Posted: 9/27/11 at 7:05pmI really wish WWOTE was on the CD, it is my favorite song from the show.
Question for the #7
Posted: 9/27/11 at 7:24pmI'll go with "Defying Gravity" as a duet as Glinda is a big part of the song. WWOTE is Nessarose's song. "Wonderful" has changed over the years from what is on the CD. When it was a song/dance number then Yes it was a duet. Elphaba still sings but not as much as before. If you want you could add those as duets but the only true duets for me are the four mentioned by HistoryBoys2
Question for the #8
Posted: 9/28/11 at 12:46pmAgreed. With WWOTE it's primarily Nessa's song, Elphaba just sings a quiet countermelody. And Wonderful has cut most of Elphaba's part over time. Sothe original 4 songs mentioned are the only duets
