Which do you prefer? The movie? or the Broadway Production?
Or do you love both the same, and which is your fave song ? Updated On: 9/4/05 at 12:36 PM

hehe.

The Broadway show. It's a lot more astounding when you see a car fly right in front of your eyes than when you see it on a TV screen. I hated the movie the first time I saw it, but I've come to enjoy it for what it is, and I've got to give some homage to that from which the show came. re: Question! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang And while Raúl is certainly no Dick Van Dyke, I kind of love him just a little anyway. re: Question! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Favorite song - Hushabye Mountain. Only when he sings it, though - if not, You Two and Me Ole Bamboo, simply for catchiness factor.

(And I'm leaving right this very moment to head to the Hilton.)

I like both, but I most definitely like the Broadway show better. Like Emcee said, it is a lot more amazing to see the car fly in front of you opposed to on a screen. They also made a lot of changes with the Vulgarians. I think they are annoying in the movie but are hilarious on stage. I like the movie mainly because when I was little I loved it, so now it brings back nice memories. In the movie my favorite song is "Me Ol' Bamboo" and on stage it is "Hushabye Mountain"

I love both, but there really is nothing like seeing the show live on stage in front of you, especially when the car flies. I also like that the stage show made some changes to the story that, in my opinion, vastly improved it, i.e. how Caractactus got the money for the car and making Vulgaria a real place.

As for favorite song -- it's hard to say. I love Hushabye Mountain, as Michael Ball (the original London stage Caractacus) sang it, and I love Me Ole Bamboo as it was done in the film. I also love the title song... really I love 'em all! re: Question! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I love the Broadway show and have to agree that "Hushabye Mountain" is beautiful. I kind of like "Truly Scrumptious" also.

I have the chance to see it again and since you appear to be fans I have a question.
Would you sit in the Front Row Mez (center) or in Row R orchestra (center)?
Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the Hilton theatre, but if Row R is under the mezzanine, you would probably be better off in the mezz. I know in London, when I sat under the Royal Circle, I couldn't see the car flying at the end.

i have to say i love the show much more than the movie. marc kudisch and jan maxwell are much more entertaining than whoever played the baron and baroness in teh movie.

"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

I have not sat in the mezz. but I have sat in row R and it was fine. I think it is still in front of the mezz. but I don't remember. You can still see Chitty fly and everything, though. Have fun seeing it again!

I just sat in row X of the orchestra this afternoon, and you can see everything just fine. Not to worry.

The Broadway production. Raul, Erin, and Marc are wonderful! I just think its so great to have a show like this to have the whole family enjoy the theatre. It's so cute to see the awe in children's eyes. :)

Favorite songs: "Hushabye Mountain" and "Doll In A Musicbox/Truly Scrumptous".

Question about the rush tickets:

How many tickets can you buy per student ID?

I believe you can buy 2 tickets per student ID. Just show up an hour or two before showtime. :)

Neither.

If you ask which one is disliked least, I say the show. I felt asleep when watched the movie. The show at least kept me awake because it was live with human being, though in a cold way.
