when you record your voice on a tape, is that what you sound like 100% or is it the kind of thing that your voice will not be recorded as is. (In others words, is what you sound like on a tape, what you sound like live?)

i have a feeling that it's kinda like looking into a photograph. you never know what it will be like and for me it's different every time. but i'm not completely sure. i mean if you compare an actor that you hear on stage to his/her recoding they sound the same right? it's a confusing situation for the person singing. my vocal teacher said that a singer never truely hears exactly what they sound like.

From a tape, you'll probably get an idea of your sound, but it will never be exactly as others hear you. It also depends on the quality of the recording.
