unless i read that wrong it should say Addams MIGHT get new director....it doesn't say they have one. It's stated as a rumor and it says "in the first year" so not even now....

HAHAHAHA. Just reading about this show made me laugh. Man, if it goes to Broadway, it'll be the next Springtime for Hitler. Or maybe it'll be known as another Prettybelle or Lolita, My Love and close on the road for it's subjective material. Either way, I want to know more about it.
it's just Mr. Pee being a poo poo (Aren't I so witty?)

Glad Annaleigh got out!
Technically, it wasn't her decision or choice.
"Guy Laliberté, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, wasn't in Montreal, either. He was, in fact, about 50 miles above Earth aboard the Soyuz TMA-16, becoming the first intergalactic clown.
While "Banana Shpeel" was falling apart, Laliberté was juggling bowling pins among the stars.
Back on Earth, his Cirque team was in a panic."
LOL
"And I'm hearing rumors that a new director may be brought in after the first of the year to help Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, the director-designers currently in charge of the production."
Reidel says nothing about McDermott and Crouch being replaced, he's just reporting the rumor that a show doctor might be brought in. From what I've read this is a prime example of a show that could benefit from some expert doctoring. The Addams family is such a familiar concept, and tourists from all over have seen it on TV (a very important factor!) so the show just needs to be vaguely coherent to be a big hit.

Larry O'Keefe was not fired. He quit a month before rehearsals began and recommended they find a new composer. He was later asked to provide additional songs, which he sent in from New York.

So why does "PGenre" hate Addmas Family so much? (Sorry- why does he hate the book and the score so much?) He's been actively rampaging about how dreadful it is on several threads for weeks now. Why does he have such a hard on for it? Does anyone know?

Well, he has made it quite clear that he is not a Lippa fan.

Yeah but there's a yawning abyss between "I just don't care for his score" to the constant vendetta against the show, cast and anyone who even dares speak favorably about the show. Was he Lippa's assistant or something?

It's all very suspect. He's trashing the show on the other message board, too. What's up with that? There's obviously some bitter vendetta. Too bad he didn't have fun at the show. I've seen it twice and had a blast, as did everyone around me.

I don't care if he has fun or not, just trying to understand his beef. And you know, he hasn't even seen the show- just hates it.
