RENT Question

Hey Rent heads. I have a question... and I apologize in advance for my ignorance on this subject. Who is the black woman who hits the high note at the end of "Measure your life in LoOOOOOOOVE" in "Seasons of Love?" Is the woman who sang this at this past year's Tony Awards a member of the original cast, and did she come back to the show for its final few weeks?

She's truly amazing.

Pretty sure she's just been in the production for forever, but not the OBC.

I'm a RENThead. I'm not completely sure.

That is Gwen Stewart. She is a member of the OBC and I believe she came back and left a couple of weeks before Adam and Anthony returned.

That was Gwen Stewart if you're talking about the '08 Tonys. And yes, she was in the OBC.

If you didn't know that you are defiantly not a Renthead. But that is Gwen Stewart, OBC member and came back for a month or two in 2007 and then joined the cast once again in July or August to close out the show. She may have come back throughout the years but I'm not sure.

She also played Joanne for a while during the second-wave cast (Jim Poulos, Norbert Leo Butz, Marcy Harriell, etc). I liked her in the role.
