I think if I were in the store and they had the 8 covers, I would have to choose Idina.

Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.

This is all so crazy, I mean I really only care about getting the CD in the end, and I do like all the characters, but if they are having slip covers or whatever with the seperate characters it would be nice to get my favorite!!

This is so sad though because I just called Best Buy and they are only scheduled to get 12 of the CDs shipped at that store in my area, so I highly doubt since there are 8 characters that we will be getting a wide selection!! This makes me sad, and wishing I lived in NY!

Idina, Anthony, and Adam...aaaaack. But we know Idina rules all. Mwuahaha. And yes orange skittles I will be that girl in Best Buy, bitch slapping another if she attempts to get the last Idina one from me. But I'll settle for Adam or Anthony...if my Maureen is gone. Keeps my fingers cross that the damned Best Buy in Queens will even have it.

The Rosario Dawson cover will be the most popular by far. The average person who's never heard of RENT is going to pick the cover with her on it.

Conversley, I doubt there will be many printed with Tracie Thoms on the cover....thats the collectors item.

how would you know how many tracie thoms were exactly printed? i mean how do you *really* know for sure? do you have the cold hard facts or are you just working on assumption?

I'm basing on assumption that the record label is going to be smart enough to realize that certain characters/actors are going to be more popular then others and thus are not going to print equal numbers of each....

My guess in terms of most/least printed:

1. Rosario
2. Idina
3. Taye
4. Adam
5. Jessie
6. Anthony
7. Wilson
8. Tracie

At any rate, finding all eight, I would imagine, for most people will be akin to finding each and every toy offered in the McDonald's happy meal series.

I bet a lot stores won't have them all.

My first choice was Idina, however ever since I heard the clips of Ms. Thom belting it out...I changed my vote to Tracie...all the way...and besides, it's in my favorite color as well.

Guys, the different pictures will be the outer cardboard slipcovers that the CDs will be in. The actual CD booklet thing that is inside the case will have the whole cast on it. The cardboard cover is what is going to make the september release more expensive than the november release. They will discontinue the o-cards after the first run, and the price will drop. That's why amazon.com lists two release dates, and the later one is cheaper.

Of course some of us will have to pay £23 (about $40) if we want it at all!!!! Why can't it just have an international release....

How ironic. Just as I'm reading this thread, a commercial came on advertising the release of the soundtrack. It started out like the first trailer, with "Seasons of Love" playing, while showing clips. Then it went into showing the soundtracks. The eight collectors edition covers were displayed, as was a Borders logo. I'm in the Philadelphia area, so I imagine these covers will be available everywhere, for those of you who were worried. Anyway, Rent on tv, pretty neat!

Ok I know I am pathetic, but I just asked the local Best Buy to see if they got the cd's in yet, and he said they did.

I asked if he would mind checking to see if they got a lot of the Roger covers, and turns out they only got one, he said he could hold it for me so now I am really excited and just had to share my news!!
