so, i just got an e-mail from sony about this - sorry if it's common knowledge already!
november 14th, 4pm - Virgin Megastore in Times Square
"Be one of the first 200 folks to pre-order the RENT: Highlights from the original motion picture soundtrack"
CD on sale for $14.99 beginning 11/14 - 9am only at the Times Square location, receive your limited edition movie poster and get a guaranteed pass to meet the cast.
Attend the event, and enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see the premeire of the movie RENT or a special autographed canvas picture of one of the cast members.
Must be present to win, no purchase nescessary."

That's cool, but why would I want the "highlights" cd vs the complete cd? Highlights cd's are for wusses. 
Paying for the chance to meet the cast I guess. Nice promo though...
