um, isn't it being filmed entirely in MYC?

I don't know what MYC is, but they are done shooting the exteriors in NYC as of yesterday.

They are off to San Fran to start shooting the interiors (additional exteriors). No clue about when/where though.

Have heard they are filming on Treasure Island - that is in the bay between SF and Oakland. It is an old Navy (?) base with access only from the Bay Bridge (which runs right through it).

I was not aware they were filming any exteriors here. They have built sets in the old hangars on the island.

Yes, Treasure Island. And then I think I read they found a place in a run-down part of SF that they're using for the Cat Scratch Club, but that's the only thing that's on-location. The NY shoot was exteriors, and they're finished filming here.

It looks like San Francisco Rentheads have a shot at being in the movie. Below is the website for the agency casting extras for it, and they're hiring non-union people. Here's an exerpt detailing what they're looking for - there's a lot more info on the site:

"We have an immediate need for the following types:

ARTIST, BOHEMIAN & MUSICIAN TYPES: Men & Women, all ethnicities, 18-35, in shape, with an edge or interesting look for various scenes set in New York City during the late 1980’s. Think the Ramones, Clash, Velvet Underground, Blondie, Joan Jett! We’re looking for retro, early underground, alternative-punk types, cool but barely making the rent in the East Village, NY (NOT California dreaming in Malibu). *If you have a car that is from 1975-early 90’s that is a plus and you can earn a little extra $$$.

STREET PEOPLE, JUNKIES, DRUG DEALERS, PIMPS AND STREET WALKER TYPES: Men and Women, ALL ethnicities, 21-50s with interesting, character looks for various scenes set in New York City during the late 1980’s.

GENERAL EXTRAS WITH CARS: Men and Women, all types and ethnicities, 18 to 65 years. We may need YOU or JUST YOUR CAR. Your vehicle must be manufactured 1975-early 90s. Car must be in decent condition, run well, and quietly. You must have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. NO RED, NO WHITE, & NO CONVERTIBLES will be considered."

They are filming on Sixth Street (between Market and Mission) in San Fran this week. It is really rundown area. Club 6 is being turned into the Cat Scatch Club. Tony's Barbershop will be turned into Crazy Eddie's, an electronics store. They are also using Pacific Loan pawnshop, Sonoma Liquors and the Seneca Hotel.

uh oh. They ARE using a pawn shop? That probably means they kept the part where Roger has a job, which bugged me. re: RENT in San Fran
