Joe Hortua's new play at MTC examines the relationship between two couples over two years....
The show was very well acted and well written. In act I while the well off couple was fighting, it seemed like the audience was eavesdropping on a real life argument. That's some good acting to make everyone feel so uncomfortable! People could identify with the situations and snicker, "Ohhh yeah...I've said that before..." The role reversals were interesting as well.
There is no closure at the end. The fact that the audience is left to make a choice as to what happens, mirrors the idea that the consequences of life decisions and the turns that life takes are often unpredictable.
And a side note- ANY show in which Daphne Rubin-Vega wears fishnets is a good time! (But I didn't say that!)
