A day shy of his 90th birthday, Galt MacDermot (Hair, Two Gentlemen of Verona) has passed away.

I'm such a fan and always longed for some sort of viewing of both Via Galactica and The Human Comedy, but he was so prolific, leaving behind a huge body of work.

Someone should revamp the book. There's some gems in the score that deserve to be heard again. That overture is beautiful.

Your mistake is assuming there's a book to revamp. Dude wasn't a case like Hair where people eventually realized it had a structure and configured their productions to give it enough focus to shine. It has its staunch defenders out there in the ether, but Dude was well and truly a mess. I should know; I've read it.
