I just saw a Sunday matinee performance of ROMANCE/ROMANCE at Virginia Musical Theatre in Virginia Beach... what a lively production... I wonder why more theaters don't produce this show more often.
Aside from the immense talent of the actors onstage, the orchestra was obviously enjoying themselves and during the exit music they rocked out... I think I detected a hint of "Kiss of the Spider Woman" in their impromptu Broadway medley.

How long is this playing for? Was it only this weekend?

I'm glad that ROMANCE/ROMANCE has finally arrived in Virginia. So few Virginians know anything about love.

Looks like this production closes a week from today.
As for Virginians not knowing anything about love - HEY! WHAT GIVES! Ever hear of Thomas Jefferson?
The folks at the matinee I saw today were mostly octogenarians but they were totally into the story and loved the sex talk.

I myself am a producer of Theatre in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area and was fortunate enough to see this production of Romance Romance on Saturday night. To say the least, this entire show was THRILLING. Stunning direction, excellent casting, wonderful and clean 3 piece musical combo, and a great piece of theatre that should be produced more often. Kudos to Virginia Musical Theatre for taking risks, and to the entire creative team and cast of ROMANCE ROMANCE. I loved it.

They loved the sex talk?
What filth!
Gosh, guys, don't you know that Virginia is for lovers?
I was really excited to see the title of this thread, but I'm about as far from Virginia Beach as it's possible to get while still being in the state of Virginia. It's cool to hear about it, though.

Maria Couch and David Weitzer were really good in this.
VMT does good work and I'm looking forward to their next show.
A friend of mine was in the original Broadway production of ROMANCE/ROMANCE. Such a wonderful little show!
