Hey, Yero! How goes it?
I have seen that commercial, too. I also just got my weekly advertising flier in the mail, and Rachel is in a print ad that goes along with the spot. It's also been appearing on the My Yahoo! web page, too. Very cool.

Good for her, she's not only very talented, but a sweetheart.
But...Comcast...? Wish she had gotten something classier, to fit her (I'm not a very big fan of Comcast, sorry...had horrible experience with their "service"...
Oh, Yero, we won't judge, don't worry...ANTM is like a train wreck, you just have to look (I've been guilty a few times, myself)!

I actually just saw a second one with Rachel in it. Still Comcast, but different commercial. The first one had her multi-tasking, on the phone in the bathtub, at home watching TV with a dog (aw, cute), and in the office on the computer. This second one has her doing things with friends - playing pool, singing karaoke, etc. She does the v/o for both of them.
I also received a flier in the mail last week that had her in a print ad to go along with the TV spots. And she showed up on the My Yahoo! web page, too. Sweet.
I'll have to watch for the Aaron Lazar ad, too. Funny, they just did a concert together in NJ. I wonder if they compared notes on their commercials.

Now, I would love to see these two commercials...Aaron's ad also.
loveclassics, when did they do the concert in NJ, and did you get to go, and if so, can you tell us about it? Sounds really like a nice one. Glad to see that both, Rachel and Aaron, are getting some good work out there. I only said that about Comcast, because of my experience, but when you think about it, it is a very big gig, since it has the potential to reach millions of people.

bwaybabe2,
I did go to the NJ concert, but got there really late because of awful awful awful traffic. I was so bummed. It was May 3 at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. I only got to see a few numbers - a trio of Circle of Life from Lion King, Rachel singing Defying Gravity (OMG!), Christiane Noll and Aaron singing Phantom, and Aaron singing Music of the Night. Whew! According to the program, I missed Rachel and Christiane singing All That Jazz and a couple of other duets I can't remember. It was only an hour, so I missed about half of it. Marvin Hamlisch was really funny. Toward the end a NJ State student choral group sang, and there were only three or four boys in the entire group. Marvin joked with them about being surrounded by older, taller girls, and one of the boys joked right back saying that the only reason he was still able to be in the chorus was that he hadn't hit puberty yet and his voice hadn't changed!
Fortunately, I made a weekend of it and also saw Rachel's cabaret at the Metropolitan Room the next night. Gotta take advantage of her trips to the East Coast.
She was fabulous. Here's her song list: Don't Rain on My Parade (amazing belt on "I'll march my band out" that got the audience applauding), Lost and Found (very sexy and cute), Blue Lou (an Ella Fitzgerald scat song she used for her City of Angels audition), I Dreamed a Dream (tears running down her cheeks by the end), Losing Track of Time from Summer of '42, Fly Me to the Moon from her CD, Mercy on Me (a Christina Aguilera gospel-style blues song), I Want You to Be (a really funny riff on marriage), a Burt Bacharach medley (she did a hilarious Cher impression during the I'll Never Fall in Love Again section, then ended with a soaring What the World Needs Now Is Love), and Maybe This Time as a tribute to Liza. Encores were Back to Before (Lynn Ahrens was in the audience and Rachel gave her a nice nod about the brilliance of Ragtime), and How Do You Keep the Music Playing. It's so great seeing the variety Rachel can handle, and her stories are really fun, too. She talks about how she met her boyfriend during Summer of '42 (very romantic), and she tells a story about Liza filling in for Julie during Victor/Victoria. She does impressions of Julie, Liza, Tony Roberts and herself as Norma. Too much!
We don't see enough of her as far as I'm concerned.

*agrees with everything loveclassics says as usual*
*also went to the Met room, couldn't say enough about it*
*must make more of an effort to watch TV and look out for comcast commercials--do they only show if yo have comcast cable?*
*is still very very jealous that lc got to see rachel perform "Defying gravity" live*
*is enjoying typing with these asterisks*

Hey, wicked, I enjoyed the asterisks:)
Thanks, lc, for posting this excellent review of the concert, and of Rachel at the M.R.*****I became a Rachel fan when I saw her in Camelot;she really shone in that one, but it seems she just shines in everything she undertakes! True talent and charm!
Did she mention what other projects she has in the works...?
Oh, and can't wait to see what Aaron will do in ATOTC! really looking forward to that one, and, of course, ONLY if he plays Darney...:)

WRQ,
You are too funny. I always enjoy your posts.
One of these days I really hope you get to see Rachel sing Defying Gravity live. This was my first time, and it was ah-mah-zing, as Seth R would say. She is my fantasy Elphaba. Oh how I'd love to see her in that role.
Bwaybabe2,
She didn't mention any new projects (sigh), but her website shows a few more concerts coming up - Israel this month, then Lake Tahoe and San Diego in August. I'd love to see her land a TV series. Then we could all watch her every week.
So totally agree about Camelot. She should have done the NY Phil concert, although then she would have been stuck with yet another horrid Arthur. (-:
It must be great doing these concerts with other really fine singers like Aaron and Christiane. Circle of Life sounded so rich and powerful. All three of them blended beautifully.

I saw her website, and it's very simple, classy and beautiful!
As a matter of fact, I'm sure you all saw Rachel also in today's "photo coverage" at the MR on this site...Noll and Lazar are pictured with her.
Looks like she has been busy working, doesn't it?!

WRQ,
I forgot to answer your question about the commercials. You don't have to have Comcast. I have Verizon fios and I've seen both. I've caught them while watching Jeopardy during dinner. I haven't seen them on the major network affiliates, just the local independents.
And BTW, I've seen Greg Jbara on a commercial for Caduet! I know he's one of your faves from the DRS days.

I just saw a THIRD commercial in the series with Rachel tonight. This time she's planning/doing a fund-raising walk with friends. Clearly the group leader, organizing them on the phone and computer.
She actually says a few lines in addition to the v/o this time.
I'm guessing they'll be running these ads a while since they made three of them. Or are there more to come???
Good for Rachel.
