Rachel York in Hello, Dolly! at Reagle

Just got my TheaterMania email blast. Rachel York opens in Hello, Dolly! at the Reagle Players in Waltham next week. Can not wait for this! *Does happy dance*

Heard her on WERS Saturday. She was GREAT. Sang "Before the Parade Passes By" and did some impersonations at the end - including Doris Day and Judy Garland that were so good it was eerie!

I loved the Jerry Herman quote from his BWW interview last week. "Dolly doesn't have to be an old lady. She just has to be older than Streisand." Too funny!!!

EXTRAORDINARY PRODUCTION!!I saw this show last night and was blown away by Rachel York and every cast member. To have assembled such an extraordinary cast (also including Jamie Ross, Sarah Pfisterer and more incredible talents)is amazing for the Boston area. The caliber of the performers,in both their singing and dancing, was phenomenal. And I'd forgotten what a wonderful score it is! My fault with previous productions of HD I've seen is that the roles are overacted, but Rachel York, and the entire cast, nailed this. And what a voice!!!

Carol Channing, it's time to pass the torch. There's a new Dolly in town, and her name is Rachel York. Wowie, wow wow wow!

I can only echo what theatremom2 said. Go See It Today! The entire production is astonishing. Sarah Pfisterer - what a voice. Jamie Ross - what sweet and funny chemistry with Rachel. The dancing. The singing. The energy. Amazing.

If there are theater gods above, please let there be a B'way revival with York recreating this phenomenal star turn. She owns this role!

I'm definitely going again.

Talkin' Broadway now has a review up. It's a RAVE. Someone please bring Rachel to Broadway in this role!!! There's a revival rumored. Casting her would be a no brainer.
