Hey there I posted this on the other message board but I thought I would also try to see if there is anyone here who might also be interested
Hey Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together to protest at Radio City to help support the musicians.
I think that a lot of the tourists coming into the city really have no idea what is going on here and maybe with a little information they could be persuaded to demand a refund for their tickets.
I don't know if anyone out there would want or have time to do this, but I thought I would ask.
I really have never put anything like this together before so any suggestions would be helpful. Feel free to email me at anytime. (jcoolbaugh82@yahoo.com)
Thanks for reading.

I got butchered last night and was called names because I said something about standing up for the musicians, so I'm not going to go there.
However, hasn't this conflict been resolved?

Posted: 11/4/05 at 12:39pmIt's another musicians' strike. Usually, with these Christmas Spectaculars, they have live musicians, but for some reason, the musicians are on strike. Therefore, they are using "canned" music.

Posted: 11/4/05 at 12:44pmThey are on strike because they are not getting paid equity pay scales and not do recieve overtime. They have every right to strike! I think its aweful that the show is going on with canned music. But without the musician's union of broadway they have less support.

I honestly don't know what upsets me more. The little interest people have in this matter or that the people who do have interest are afraid to come forth with their opinions due to others shooting them down.
I love how quickly people discredit musicians, even though they work just as hard as everyone else involved in the production. Plus they do this work with very little recognition. People will stand outside of show for actors autographs and photos, while the musicians walk quietly by without so much as a "Good Job". They do their work because of their love for playing music, and I for one believe they should be compensated fairly for it.
Of course many friends of mine who do play music or teach music classes for a living wouldn't want the exposure anyway, but wouldn't it be nice to let these hard working people know that the public stands behind them and would never accept a production that didn't treat them equally.
Ok I will remove myself from my soap box now.
Thank you for reading.
