Who else would like to see this man play Jean Valjean in the limited engagement of Les Mis.
I DO !!!!
He was amazing when I saw him as Valjean. You could tell that he certainly learned a lot from Wilkinson.
He is an excellent Valjean, but wouldn't it be great to see someone new prove themself?
My friend saw him perform in Boston, loved him to death, but said he cracked on final word, one, during "Who Am I?".
I'd like to see him do it, if he shared it with someone else. (Either they alternated or he did 3 months and someone else did 3 months.)
I'm a huge Randal fan, and have been since I saw him (twice) as an understudy six years ago, but if there's someone else waiting in the wings to get their chance, they should have it too.
I actually saw Randal Keith perform last night, and I didn't really think he sounded anything like Colm Wilkinson at all, which I found odd since he performed with him in China. Mr. Keith has a great voice of his own, which I am not trying to criticize, but I don't think he sounds like Colm Wilkinson if that is what people want to hear. I saw Steve Gannon perform the role a few years ago, and he sounded a lot like Colm Wilkinson. Randal is a nice guy but he's not my favorite actor in the role.

I'd rather see Kirk Cameron in the role. :)
i agree with Lizzie. i saw Randal Keith twice this summer and i absolutely loved his rendition of Valjean's Soliloquy. he's amazing, but it would be nice to see someone else as well.

I've seen Les Miz twice...once on Broadway and once on Tour, both supposedly starring Randal Keith. However, I saw an understudy both times. Just my luck. I loved both of the Valjean's I saw, but I would love to actually see Randal perform the role.

I loved him too, and would love to see him on Broadway again... but couldn't you have posted this in the 10000 other Les Mis threads?

Why would performing with someone neccessarily mean they'd end up sound like them?
He also performed with Colm in Toronto, as Brujon -- in fact, although there were two Valjean covers (and always have been at least two), Randal was the only one who ever went on for Colm there.
I wrote that in response to Freelancer's comment "You could tell that he certainly learned a lot from Colm Wilkinson" because I didn't see anything he learned from Colm Wilkinson.

I saw Gary Morris do this on Broadway in the eighties, when he was the first American to perform this role (thank God this performance was captured on the Symphonic CD). This past New Year's Eve I took the family to see the tour at the National Theatre In D.C. with Randal in the role and I completely agree! He is the right age and his voice has the power and range needed for Valjean. I even has his CD and listen to it frequently.

He is from Chicago, and I think he changed his name. He was wonderful in Chicago last year!
Misto, that makes sense now. Thanks!
brdlwyr, he's actually from North Carolina, but he's worked a lot in Chicago.
