I've noticed that a bunch of the roles written for males lately are written for a tenor. what would you guys say would be a solid range for a tenor? what is a tenors range usually from their lowest note to highest note in your regular voice? Lowest note to highest note in falsetto?

I'm sure there will be other people to attest to this but in my experiences as a tenor I've had to sing from a low A flat (an octave and third below middle C) all the way up to a High C. That's the extreme. Now with Rock shows it might be a little diff. The Rocky falsetto mixy thing I've used all the way up to E flat. anything above that is pure falsetto and rarely used.
Tenors have the shortest range - usually from E flat below to A flat above middle C.
The link below say C (an octave below middle C) up to high C or D (or above).

Well, I guess it all depends who you ask. I'm a tenor, so this is my personal take. As far as "range"...I would say from about C (below middle C) to around high A for full voice. Of course a tenor's falsetto can go quite a bit higher than that. But as for a averge written tenor piece, I'd say from C to A. My most favorite notes (my money notes) to sing fall between B and G.
I agree that most of the best musical number for men are written for tenors. I just think that the tenor voice tends to sound more enjoyable for a solo number than as a bass. Just my opinion though.
But, there's my take on it anyway.

I'm a lyric tenor, with quite a strong middle register and fortunately a high belt range (A flat to B or B flat). My lower register is almost non-existent-- baritone is not easy when I've had to sing it on occasion in a choral setting.
