Has there ever been a musical that was heavily rap/hip-hop-based on Broadway and, if not, do you think such a production could possibly work and be successful?

I've recently been thinking of writing a musical based on the East Coast/West Coast hip hop rivalry.

Bring in Da Noise, Bring in da Funk? :-/

I dunno. It'd be a great idea, though. Something other than a rock or pop score that young people can relate to.

There have been a slew of off-Broadway hip-hop/Rap/R&B musicals, but on Broadway they are exceedingly rare. The one that sticks out in my memory one I think NYTW did maybe in the past year- though I honestly can't remember it's name. Can anyone help me out?
