I adored Reba McEntire as Annie Oakley in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. Sometimes they make recordings with Star replacments. Was there ever a CD with Reba? And if there was - How can I get a copy? I vaguely remember they were selling a CD with a couple of her songs at the Marquis. But I'm not sure about that.
There was a CD with a few of the songs, but they never made a full recording with her. I don't know how to find it now, though. Maybe checking ebay periodically? Incidentally, that was the first show I saw during my first trip to NYC. I always thought it would have been nice to have a full recording of her to remember the show.
Seriously. If Brooke Shields and Vanessa Williams can get recordings for shows they replaced people in, then Reba McEntire should have at LEAST gotten one for Annie. Wish that replacement Tony was in effect back then.

Thank you Jenny1284 for your help. I'll do some checking.
I so agree with you Bjivie2 - Reba would have aced that replacement Tony had the category existed! She was perfection.

her rendition of You Cant Get A Man With A Gun pops up on the illegal music downloading sites every once in a while....it's pretty good.
I actually think the reason they didn't record the entire show with her was because at the time it was planned for her to do a made for television remake of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. That got postponed endlessly and eventually shelved.
Yes, I used to have this! If you bought the souvenir program book during Reba's tenure, you also got a two-song CD with Reba singing "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun" and one of the ballads, "Lost In His Arms," I think. I could KILL myself for giving this away to my niece years ago. She has lost it! I've looked on eBay several times with no success.
