I know there are a billion posts like this on this forum, but I thought I'd get some input from here.
I'm taking a trip to New York from March 10-18th (my first trip since I was a sophomore in high school). We're already planning on seeing Band's Visit, Three Tall Women, Mean Girls in Previews, and Sleep No More. I get a free day to see a show. Any recommendations? I'm open to Off and On Broadway, and I'd prefer to see a show that opened this season.
I really loved Spongebob. It's a ton of fun.
You will probably regret not seeing MFL.

I'm leaning towards Spongebob. I live in Chicagoland, and my biggest regret is not seeing the show when the tickets were 30 dollars for nosebleeds.
Wow. So much to see. Sounds like you’ve landed on Spongebob, which I am feeling more optimistic about than I had expected. Other options:
Hello Dolly!
Dear Evan Hansen
Sweeney Todd (off-Broadway)
Also, I have not seen these (most don’t start previews until after new year), but also promising:
Once On This Island (just opened to almost universal rave reviews)
My Fair Lady (starts previews on March 15)
Carousel (starts previews on February 28)

Spongebob is really fun and Ethan Slater is brilliant - can't believe it's his Broadway debut. Definitely try to see Sweeney Todd too! Also Lobby Hero with Chris Evans and Michael Cera will be in previews during your trip if you want to splurge.

You might also consider Farinelli and the King, if you believe, as I do, that one should never pass up a chance to see Mark Rylance onstage.
