Recovery the Musical

Hi everyone,

 

We’re in the process of developing an original new musical called Recovery: The Musical — a surreal, hybrid stage/film piece about addiction, recovery, and the shadow-selves we face. It blends traditional book musical structure with filmed imagery (projected onstage), drawing on everything from old Hollywood tap routines to dream-like hallucinations.

 

We’ve started producing short proof-of-concept videos to test the tone, music, and visuals. Here’s a first look:

We’d love honest feedback from this community of theatre-makers and theatre-lovers. Does the concept come across? 
 

This project is still in workshop phase, so thoughts on structure, pacing, and theatricality are especially valuable.
