Rediscovering the Drama Book Shop

Rediscovering the Drama Book Shop

I rediscovered the famed Drama Book Shop this afternoon after many, many years. I hadn't been in since they moved....everything I needed since then had been easily obtained at Theater Circle (except for the one book I was searching for this afternoon).

What a place tDBS is...a haven for actors, playwrights, everyone. Such a helpful staff....I found everything I needed and more. With copies of nearly every play currently being performed on and off Broadway, I was in my proverbial "glory."

I will certainly be venturing back again (and it'll be sooner than 5 years!)

Maybe I will stop by this weekend. :)

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

It is my absolute #1 resource for plays...it's amazing!

What a neat store! I go there whenever I am in the city. I was not aware that it changed locations. Could somebody please set me straight?

I love that store. Whenver I go, I end up spending way more money than I had intended to.

Oh, so I must have been introduced to the store in its current location. Thanks.

I could live in there.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I could live there, so then everytime I walked out I wouldn't have my credit card company calling me to give me a high spending alert. (Exaggeration....but pretty close to reality)

I miss the old location next to the Gentleman's Club.

I always stop by (and spend way too much money) whenever I'm in NYC.

I love both the DBS and Broadway Circle. I find that if one place doesn't have what I'm looking for, the other will. I never miss shopping there when I'm in NYC. I love their store on 40th Street, too. It's bigger and you aren't afraid you'll knock over a stack of books they way you did in their old place on the second floor of that building on 7th Avenue and 48th Street.

They have a pretty decent website, too.

I love the drama book shop. It is amazing. A must stop locale whenever I'm in the city. I always buy a play there, even if I'm dirt broke.
