Hello everyone, I just recently discovered this board and I have a question to ask all of you knowledgable people out there. What did you think of Reefer Madness? Also, does anyone have any info on how it did Off-Broadway? I was recently cast in a production of Reefer and I'm just trying to find some info about the show. I've read the script and I have the music (which makes me want to tear out my vocal chords, I mean the high Gs are ok for us tenors, but not for the basses and then we also get lovely high Cs thrown in too....oh joy). I'm anxiously looking forward to the film, from just reading the script it seems like a very interesting show.

The show apparently went over quite well in LA, which is why they decided to bring it here, where it was not successful. I saw it and with the exception of a couple of good performances (Michelle Pawk can seemingly do no wrong) it was dreadful.

QueenS I was just wondering what you found to be so dreadful? Was it the staging, songs, performances?
i enjoyed Ms. Pawk, the male comic imported from LA (forget his name, he doubled as Jesus), and Christian Campbell. i thought the Narrator (could it have been Doug Sills, or just someone of that stature) was not well-directed. The energy was good, and the crowd i saw it with loved it. It's a funny idea for a show. i'm not sure why it didn't last.
Gregg Edelman played the narrator and he was bad, I thought. Not funny at all.
This show is very interesting for me, but is hard to find on cd...Somebody Can help me?
