Regional Premiere of "Hairspray" question

I see that North Shore Music Theatre will be producing the regional premiere of Hairspray in their upcoming season - how awesome! My question is do we know if there are plans to start releasing it to amateur groups and other regional houses? Who licenses it? MTI? No one may know the answers to these yet, but I thought I'd throw it out, in case anyone does!

the rights will be restricted for Hairspray for amateur productions for quite some time i assume, though a majority of time when MTI acquires a piece, regional production houses are eligible for obtaining the rights

I don't think that the show has been licensed to a company yet. North Shore may have gotten the rights directly from the producers. I would think that if MTI had the rights, they would be advertising it but not let anyone produce it (like The Producers).

looks like there is an upcoming regional production of THE PRODUCERS coming up according to MTI, I contacted them via email once and they said that most shows like "thoroughly Modern Millie" (a while ago, no longer applies) and "Rent" were restricted until about 2008 exception to select regional houses that were interested in applying for the rights
