So I just saw a regional theatre production of Aida in California tonight and oh my god it was amazing. I unfortunatly was not able to see the broadway show and am so glad that I was at least able to see this performance which left me in awe. These performer's voices were incredible along with the fabulous abstract dancing and I am totally in love with this show and am planning on going back later this week (also cuz one of my friends is crew for this show and is gonna show me the set and introduce me to the cast afterwards). Id have to say that my favorite character would be Amneris, I know she seems like all fluff but in the end turns out to be smart and thoughtful. If anyone is in the SF/Bay Area in Cali through March 26th I totally recommend to go see Aida at the Willows Theatre in Concord. PM me if you want more info.

I live near the Willows and have not had time to see the show -- but I'll see if I can squeeze in a student rush time or something before it closes. I keep hearing great things about it! (I've never seen the show before. Missed the tour when it was here.)

I live in L.A., so no chance for me to see this production, but here are some pictures from it. Enjoy!

Wow...looks like a good show. Great set, lots of it very similar to the original production. Costumes look fairly good except for that pink dress that Aida was wearing...did they buy that at Target?

Rose...how did they stage "My Strongest Suit" and what about the very end?

I miss this show, you all know it. This production doesn't look half bad, though. The only thing that's kind of weirding me out is how modern some of Radames' costumes look.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. re: Regional Theatre production of Aida

Yes, it looks very similar to the Disney production. As a designer, after seeing the Disney production, it would be hard not to use the beautiful colors.

I saw the production at Willows, and it compared in talent (of the leads) to all the other's I have seen. WOW.
The two female leads, Megan Ross and Dawn Troupe Masi were awesome. I saw Megan Ross in some other shows too. I am glad she is in NY now. She will make it for sure. I thought there set was cool too, but the night I went they had some sound trouble. It really was a great production.

There will be another regional production of "Aida" in New Jersey come November 2005.

I've worked with the company putting it on...this is a very out of the ordinary production for them. I'm excited to see how this pans out. There still putting together the production team.
