Regional Tony: TheaterWorks

i could not be happier for TheaterWorks being announced yesterday as this year’s regional Tony winner. Frankly i feel it’s long overdue. I’ve seen dozens of shows there in Mountain View (just north of San Jose) and every single one has been top-notch. The most recent show I saw was FUN HOME which was outstanding and every bit on par with what I saw at Circle in the Square. Robert Kelley, the founder (50 years ago) and artistic director, is retiring after this season, so I assume that played into the award decision. This is as much an honor for him as it is his company. Bravo, TheaterWorks!

Yes!  Congratulations to TheatreWorks!  I've especially enjoyed the shows at the Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto  (Four Immigrants, Hold These Truths), but the Mountain View venue has also had some good productions.
