How many recorded renditions of Rose's Turn are there, Im trying to put together a CD I have thus far:

Ethel Merman's
Angela Lansbury's
Tyne Daly's
Bernadette Peters'
Liza Minelli's from Liza's Back!

Any others I'm missing?

Yes that's me. No, it's not a Rent homage.

How could you forget Bette Midler?

"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."

You forgot John Tartaglia as Rod singing Rose's Turn...although I don't know if that's recorded or not, it was performed.

And hang on, when did you win the discus?

I was going to say the same thing.
My favorite is Rod's Turn and I wish John would record it and sell it.
I love it.
I want it on a dvd.

And Kate could say to Rod...
Kate: Rod, when is it going to be my turn?
Rod: Sorry Kate, "IT SUCKS TO BE YOU"
Kate: No Really. It is my turn!!! I am the pretty one here!
Trekkie: Where is Lucy?

One that was NOT recorded but should have been was Linda Lavin's Roses Turn. It was brilliant and the best thing she did in the show when she took over for Tyne. Updated On: 11/17/04 at 08:51 AM

"Forbidden Broadway" did a pretty funny parody of "Rose's Turn" a while ago when the revival was still playing. It had Donna English as Bernadette Peters... it wasnt ever recorded though, and I'm pretty sure it's not in the show anymore. The lyrics were something like:

"Some people think that I pull it off
Some people think I just stand here and cough"

She proceeded to sing about how everyone should forget about Merman and how shes the new Mamma Rose..... funny stuff. Too bad it's not on any of the recordings.

It was in the last version. Donna English did an amazing Bernadette. It was one of my favorites.

There is a version of a cd called Stairway to The Stars... I cannot think of the singer and I will get back to you on it as I have look thru my droves of theater cds. But it was done live and it was the whole bit... from the "What did you ever do me Mama?" bit... I want to say it was someone very famout fromt he time but dangit if I cannot remember the name.

My favorite is Harvey Fierstiens "Noses Turn" on Sesame Street. It totally rocks, but I doubt there is a recording.
