Typical stuff you should have on your acting resume:
-Name (duh)
-height
-weighteye/hair color
-measurements (bust-waist-hips)
-skills (i.e. juggling, singing, playing soccer, languages, dialects, stage fighting, whatever)
-agents/representatives
Lemme see if I can find an example online. But those are the must-haves.
Edit:
Also, you need to include any formal training you have, be it in voice, music, acting, dance, etc. and any certificates/credentials you've received because of it. And you'll probably need to put down whether you're part of SAG or not.
And a cover letter is a good idea.
There's a certain recommended format if you have stage/film experience but I'm guessing if you have that experience, you probably know how to do a proper acting resume.
Edit2:
Here's a link I found. It has a bit of info about resumes for beginners and advanced folks, and headshots. It's not the exact same format as I was saying. So sue me. It's your role.

Edit 3:
Here's where I got that site from. Even more info for you.

Posted: 11/14/04 at 12:28pmAfter seeing about 4000 acting resumes and headshots, i've never seen anyone put down their measurements as in bust, hips etc. Some don't even put down height and weight. I'd always include a cover letter and make it unique.

yea i wasn't going to put my measurements.
dont they need to know my age/dob?
#32re: Rent Film Auditions
Posted: 11/14/04 at 1:50pmNever put your age on your resume, it will limit you. Casting directors will have it in their minds that you are x years old and think that is the only range you can perform.

ajay, you're not the only one in the film industry you know. Just not all of us advertise it.
And I have definitely seen many with measurements, although it's not mandatory. Height and weight are expected.
kim - date of birth, yes because if you're underage they need to know that - there's certain stipulations about minors on film sets, requirement of an adult present, hours worked, etc.
Edited to add: Measurements comes a lot from resumes of models who are applying for extra or principal work, so it's not mandatory. However, I've assisted in the wardrobe department for extras and principals before, I can tell you that while they have no say in the casting department, if they hire people on the fly, they want to know body types that may or may not fit into the clothes that are already on hand. So it's useful. (However, to be blunt, if you don't have a very good body type, you may want to consider not putting in your measurements.)

Ajay, I think seeing as it seems like a few people on here are under age, they should mention their age somewhere on their resume because there's a lot of policies and regulations the casting directors will have to consider if they hire minors.
Also, whatever you do, PLEASE do not say that you are applying for this movie because you're a big renthead and a die hard fan of Idina/Anthony/Adam, etc. You can (maybe should) say you're familiar with the work and appreciate it, but don't insinuate that that's your only reason for wanting the job. When I was working on locations for Chronicles if Riddick, I was appalled at how many people actually wrote down, "I'm a huge fan of Vin Diesel/Karl Urban/Thandie Newton and I really, really, really want to meet them/working on the set could be cool." Oy. It makes for good laughs (and bird cage fodder) at the production offices!
And Kim - don't be deterred because Ajay and I are giving you contrasting information. It just goes to show how many different resumes there are. But you have nothing to lose (except for the cost of your headshot and postage) if you apply!

I don't know. Are you okay with nudity? (As long as your parents don't know and you're okay with four-legged animals and dwarfs, you should be okay.)

Posted: 11/14/04 at 3:53pmTiff, you are right age is only important if you are underage, but if you are not underage it is always a good idea not to put your age on your resume, and measurements are only necessary after they are interested in you. And yes Tiff I've seen numerous resumes by actors that have done alot of work not put their height or weight out of fear of being cornered. And why did i expect the passive agressive "advertising" comment from you. People are talking about acting resumes and what they should do, if someone disagrees with you don't take it as a personal attack.

Posted: 11/14/04 at 3:58pmI don't know why you would "expect" the passive aggressive comment from me. I've been nothing but nice to you, and engaged respectfully in conversations you've partaken in, and I added a smiley at the end, which usually infers that I was kidding. Defensive much? Not a personal attack. Sorry if it came off that way.

And i too have been nice with you and would like to continue that way so I apologize for jumping the gun. Let's try to encourage everyone to send out their resumes cos thats the only way to get the jobs and to keep trying. Hope we're cool.

Just wanted to throw in here that in theatrical resumes, height and weight are rarely seen, let alone measurements. Age is also not routinely included.
I would say that although I'd encourage anyone to have sent in a resume, it's really a tad late now since the auditions start in two days and the people who are auditioning have long ago heard already. And also, why would someone who has no experience in acting suddenly want to audition for this film? Seems a little silly to want to do it just because you're a fan of the show. Anyway, good luck to anyone on here who actually got an audition, I have a few friends going this week. :)

We're cool Ajay.
Yeah, erinrebecca, I also noticed that a lot of theatrical resumes (probably almost all, if not all) that I've seen don't include height/weight, although most of the film ones I've seen have. I wonder if it's because (and I'm bracing for the rebuttal here) theatrical resumes look more for the best person for the role, while I'd argue that for film parts, looks carry more weight. (or less - pardon the pun
)
Thoughts? Sorry for the threadjack. I just noticed that as well.
