Rent Matinee Review 3-22-08

I went to Rent yesterday for my 14th time and I hate to say it but I was a little disappointed in what I saw.
I'll break it down by performer by before I start
What happened to Harley during the Matinee? He left after Life support

Harley Kyle: Harley was great untill he left do have to say that I'm going to miss the "Harley Tengo". then they put Kyle in and OMG he was awful. During Haloween I felt like he was just standing there with no emotion. Also during LVB he seemed like he was going through the motions. (Kyle has been with the show too long, He was my 2nd Mark when I saw it in 2005)

Declan: He was good but I felt like during some parts ex. Glory he wasn't showing emotion and didn't have that powerful voice of an angry Roger. Then during Goodbye Love when he said "Love's not a 3 way street" It seemed as if he was going to punch Mimi he was to angry. I Say Bring back TIM (Now had a poweful voice and didn't overact)

Justin: Good as always I've seen him 14 times and he still "wows" me everytime.

Rodney: He was ok nothing special

Caren (Maureen US): She was really good A lot better than Nicholette

Ok so thats my review
This is the first time I've seen the show where I said to myself "If I've hadn't seen and loved RENT as much as I do I don't know If I'd go back"
I think they need a new cast for an extension
I wonder how this New Mark will be with Will

I heard they are moving the RENT CLOSING DATE up to May 11th, because even they realize that it's a joke now.

As much as I want to see this a few more times before it closes, I don't want Harley/Declan to wreck the memories for me. I'm just going to hold onto my June 1 ticket for now and hope the cast improves.
